The North Melbourne Football Club has selected Blake Drury with the first pick of the 2022 AFL Rookie Draft.
Drafted from the Oakleigh Chargers, Drury spent time at two junior clubs in the Eastern Football Netball League, Vermont and the Waverley Blues. He is a small forward/midfielder with great leadership qualities. Drury finished the 2022 season with the Chargers, having an average of 18.7 disposals per game while also averaging 19 per game for Vic Metro during the Under-18s National Championships.

Josh Bennetts has also been selected by the Hawthorn Football Club as a Category B rookie.
Bennetts has played for three EFNL clubs, Scoresby, Lysterfield and Rowville. He arrives to the Hawks having won the Ranges best and fairest in 2022, playing his best football as a forward/midfielder this year.
The new Hawk played 13 matches for the Ranges and kicked 14 goals, while averaging 18.2 disposals a game.
