The Eastern Football League is excited to announce the appointment of Neville Nash to the new role of Female Umpire’s Development Coach.
The EFL has seen a huge growth in both women’s & girls football competition & equally a rise in females taking up umpiring.
Nash will provide the coaching & development of our growing list of female umpires which will involve coaching sessions & observations on matchday to assist the umpires in their development.
Umpiring 217 VFL/AFL games, including the 1983 Grand Final, Nash comes with a wealth of knowledge from a career in football spanning 50 years.
EFL Head of Umpiring Scott Van Noordennen is thrilled at the prospect of having someone of the calibre of Nash part of the coaching team,
“Nev’s experience in coaching & developing people in our sport is well regarded in the industry,
“To have him involved in our female development program will compliment our already very experienced and dedicated umpiring coaching team.”
Nash joins a cast of experienced coaches who will oversee the leagues umpires in 2019.
As well as welcoming Neville Nash the league has also secured Division 1 Grand Final field umpire Nathan McDonald and Boundary umpire Pieter Van Pinxteren to strengthen an already experienced line-up.
