Following a successful season in 2015, the Eastern Region Coaches Association Academy is back bigger and better.
In total 17 Coaches will go through the program in 2016, coming from a range of backgrounds. The group will work with some of the region’s best coaching minds to develop their skills.
Eastern Football League Game Development Manager Aaron Bailey is buoyed by the quality of the applicants and in turn the final 17 participants who will attend a series of workshops and conferences during the year.
“We have expanded the program this year and we are really excited about the quality of the participants” “Workshops will be run by some of the best coaches in the region and participants will get an insight into what it takes to be a successful coach.”
Those attending the program will also attend seminars hosted by the Hawthorn Football Club as part of the Hawks ongoing support of local football, as well as this the program will head to Box Hill Hawks, Eastern Ranges and the Vic Metro Youth Girls Championships.
The academy will also assist a couple of the leagues brightest – Under 13 Interleague Coach Sean Buncle (Montrose) as well as Emily McKie who will assist with the Leagues first ever Girls Interleague team.
Bailey is excited about the prospects for these coaches at the conclusion of the program
