In a big day of representative football the EFL came away last Saturday with a win in the Under -2 competition – something the league hasn’t been able to do for a couple of seasons after numerous Grand Finals.
Whilst the league was unable to claim its fourth consecutive Division 1 flag, Our Division 2 side were able to shake the early challenge to go on to win comfortably over South Metro Junior Football League.

Despite South Metro JFL finding the big sticks in the third term, it simply wasn’t enough to stop the Eastern FL from keeping its unbeaten record alive, securing its fourth straight win for the competition.

Despite its victory in the Pool B competition, the Eastern FL was on the opposite side of the ledger in the Pool A decider, eclipsed by the South Metro JFL by 29-points.
From the outset, South Metro JFL was relentless in and around stoppages, providing first use of the ball to its forwards.
South Metro’s Fischer McAsey did the damage up forward with three goals, while Riley Virtue and Cameron Watts were prolific through the midfield.
Despite outscoring the visitors in the third term, Eastern FL couldn’t sustain its momentum in the final quarter, eventually going down 14.12 (96) to 10.7 (67).
