SIX REASONS TO IMPROVE
“Choose Tap” Countdown | Rowville Football Club
By Dyson Baker
Eagerly awaiting their shot at the title, all a contender can do is train and wait time before they get their shot.
Rowville are that boxer at the moment, they have put themselves in a position to strike at the top 5 but much like the contender just are 100% ready for the fight.
Since being promoted to Division 1 the Hawks have managed to finish 6th in both seasons in the league’s top flight division.
They will rue missed chances, winning 11 games last year they made every inroads into potentially playing finals, but with a competitive group at the top it wasn’t enough.
A number of unknowns in Division 1 will keep the Hawks buoyant as there is a chance they may find themselves sneaking their way into the top 5 should results go their way.
Obviously first port of call for the Hawks is to win enough games to put themselves in the mix, they are then relying on most likely a Vermont or Montrose to drop out to give them the chance to sneak in.
PLAYER REGISTRATION ACTIVATION
As always, a numbers game….
Rowville will be looking to the future after again losing a number of established players.
The club has taken a hit of roughly 10 senior players will take some recovery but the Hawks have the youth coming through who can quickly fill the void.
The Hawks start the season with a home fixture against Knox, they back it up away to Noble Park and then on ANZAC Day face North Ringwood.
Three wins would be what Coach Peter Bastinac is hoping for and that will put them in the mix early in the season.
Statistically this shouldn’t be too hard to manage.
Rowville over the past three season have started the year with no less than two wins from three games, keeping themselves ahead of the ledger from the get go.
‘CHOOSE TAP’ WATER BOTTLE OFFER
It would be suggested they should be Knox, and possibly North Ringwood, however the game against Noble Park could shape Division 1 this season.
Finals certainly aren’t out of the question and that would be the expectation from most at Seebeck Oval.
Rowville have been so close and still continued to build a young, exuberant list in the process.
2015 has to be the year, failing that, other clubs potentially become an option for players who are hungry for more success following the clubs Division 2 flag a couple of years ago.
