Emmaus St. Leo’s Senior Women’s Coach

Objective

  • To provide coaching, leadership, development, and integration for the women’s senior football team, to help achieve the overall aims and objectives of Emmaus St. Leo’s Old Collegians Football Club. Emmaus St. Leo’s have been through a period of player demographic change with a younger group of players across 3 men’s and 1 women’s side. With the goal of expanding to two women’s teams, the club is seeking an experienced women’s coach to change the culture and prepare the team for expansion.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop/revise handbook sections relevant to the women’s team spelling out expectations of the team, in line with overall club objectives.
  • Establish as soon as possible a profile of all current players and a recruitment profile to supplement any perceived deficiencies.
  • Contact all current players as soon as practicable after appointment to outline plans for the coming season. Have individualised, specific goals for player development.
  • Liaise with the Club Executive to recruit Assistant Coaches.
  • Manage the recruitment of players in consultation with the Executive. Ideally would have contacts to support year to year recruitment outside of the club’s usual channels.
  • Develop and establish an appropriate preseason training program, in conjunction with training and strength and conditioning staff.
  • Provide recommendations to the Club Executive on the recruitment of appropriate football support staff. Ideally, would have some contacts to help support gameday volunteer roles.
  • Instruct the players placed under their care generally and to see that all players carry out sufficient training.
  • Liaise with Executive and Men’s coaching staff to establish a consistent coaching policy throughout the Club.
  • Act as Chairman of the Selection Committee.
  • Provide game day coaching expertise and leadership.
  • Attend Club functions as agreed
  • Provide regular reports to the General Committee throughout the season.
  • Provide guidance in establishing a high level of player accountability in training and gameday attendance.
  • Create strategies, in line with the Executive and Men’s coaching staff to implement integration club wide.

  • Liaises with the Club Executive and Men’s coaching staff.

Accountability

  • Accountable to the Club Executive

  • To be negotiated once appointment has been made.
