Born in Perth in 1924, Bibby moved to Victoria in the 1940’s and soon getting involved in the local sporting competitions of the Eastern suburbs, becoming secretary of the EFNL (then Croydon Ferntree Gully Football League) in 1958, a position he held until 1966.

Bibby soon joined the Fitzroy Football Club committee in 1970 and became President in 1976, staying in the role until 1980, overseeing the 1978 Night Premiership and the clubs first finals appearance in 19 years in 1979.

Bibby was also heavily involved in cricket, serving as the RDCA Vice President from 1961 to 1967, as secretary of the Ringwood Cricket Club from 1967 to 1970 and President of the Ringwood Cricket Club from 1971 to 1975.

Bibby was awarded a number of honours for his work in sports administration, given EFNL Life Membership in 1969, Fitzroy Life Membership in 1979 and became a Member of the British Empire (MBE) in 1980.

The EFNL would like to recognise Frank’s influence on the league and send their thoughts and condolences once again to the Bibby family at this troubling time.
