Each year the EFNL competes in the AFL Victoria Metropolitan Championships in the following age groups; under-14 boys, under-15 boys and under 15-girls.
The Metropolitan Championships are the first stage in the AFL Talented Player Pathway for both junior boys and girls.

The league is also seeking Assistant Coaches to volunteer for the Interleague teams, assisting the senior coaches.
