Fairpark Lions claimed their first win of the 2025 Ringwood Mazda EFNL netball Division 13 season, defeating Ringwood Black by 11 goals in a superb performance at HE Parker.
A 7-3 opening term set the tone for the Lions, who outscored the Blues in each remaining quarter on their way to producing an impressive 25-14 triumph.
It was a dominant opening half from Fairpark Lions goal shooter Laura Stevenson that played a role in her side’s strong win on Friday night. She finished with 12 goals for the match, eight of them coming in the first two quarters.
Jennifer Stevenson was impressive in her own right at Goal Attack and scored eight goals, whilst Piper DAmico played a fantastic attacking role in the last quarter, finishing with four goals.
From the beginning of the game, the Lions controlled the tempo with sharp ball movement and defensive pressure, showing just how strong the potential of this team.
The intensity didn’t fall away from the second quarter onwards, with Stephanie Quang being instrumental in the victory, excelling in the mid court and showing real strength and agility in her long return comeback to netball.
Laura Stevenson also played a crucial role, dominating in attack to keep Ringwood under pressure with her incredible goaling.
The third quarter was tightly contested, with Ringwood putting up a competitive third quarter, with Fairpark maintaining an eight-goal lead going into the final quarter.
The Lions made sure of the victory with another terrific term in the last, scoring five goals to two. It capped off a brilliant four quarter performance which resulted in them winning their first match of the season.
