Heathmont Yellow claimed their first win of the 2025 Ringwood Mazda EFNL Netball Division 10 season, defeating Montrose Storm by 15 goals at HE Parker.
A 10-4 opening term set the tone for Heathmont, who outscored the Storm in each remaining quarter on their way to producing an impressive 40-25 triumph.
It was a dominant opening half from Heathmont Goal Attack Jessica Hall that played a role in her side’s strong win on Friday night. She finished with 20 goals for the match, 13 of them coming in the first two quarters.
Samantha Crowe was impressive in her own right at Goal Shooter in the first half, scoring 12 goals, while teammates Rebecca Scarlett played an impressive feeding in Wing Attack, whilst Jorja Cram made an incredible comeback, coming back from a long-term injury, playing a fantastic role in settling the defensive end in Goal Keeper.
Montrose saw strong efforts from Megan at Challis, playing a strong role, 18 goals.
Heathmont’s ability to apply great amounts of pressure to their opposition, was the catalyst in their strong start in the first quarter.
The intensity didn’t drop in the second term, with Heathmont winning the quarter, 9-5.
Despite trailing by 10 goals at half time, Storm refused to put their heads down and came into the second half full of energy.
Storm lifted their work rate and were starting to gain more possession as a result; however, Heathmont would end the third term in impressive fashion to extend their advantage to 12 goals approaching the final quarter.
Heathmont made sure of the victory with another terrific term in the last, scoring 11 goals to eight. It capped off a brilliant four quarter performance which resulted in them winning their first match of the season.
