Blackburn White have kicked off their 2025 Ringwood Mazda netball campaign in winning fashion, defeating Kilsyth Cougars Charcoal by four goals at HE Parker in a thrilling match.
It was a battle in all four quarters of the match, with Blackburn winning the first and third quarters to produce a 22-18 triumph.

It was a performance from Blackburn Goal Attack Olivia O’Brien that played a role in her side’s strong win on Friday night. She finished with 10 goals for the match, seven of them coming in the third quarter.
Charlotte Archbold was impressive in her own right at Goal Shooter and scored nine goals, while teammate Ally Larsen had some great moments for the winning side through the defensive end, make some pivotal turn overs which resulted in the team grabbing the victory.
It was a tight first quarter, with Blackburn winning the first quarter 7-4.
The second quarter was a low scoring second quarter, with both teams lifting in their defensive end and making it tough to find easy flow in attack. Whilst the second quarter was 3-3, Blackburn maintained a three-goal lead at half time.
It was a third quarter of goals, with O’Brien scoring five of her side’s seven goals for Blackburn, whilst Mackenna Passinati scored all five goals for the Cougars.
Whilst Blackburn won the third quarter, 7-5, Blackburn maintained a five-goal lead at the final break.
The Cougars were resilient in the last quarter, winning the last quarter, 6-5, but Blackburn were able to hold on in the final stages of the game to secure the victory.
