The first round of our junior season commences today, and we have been blessed with fantastic weather. New and existing players, umpires, officials, and supporters will head to grounds today and participate in our great game. An exciting time for everyone following the COVID-19 disruptions. Welcome to all those new players and their families.
There will be much rust to dust off for players, officials, coaches, and our umpires. The focus and priority for today is simply returning to the field and providing the kids with the opportunity to participate. Many new umpires will also take the field today and they need the same support that we give to our players.
Several teams will have low player numbers, others may not have received their short and socks orders, other clubs may have to supply a club umpire for their game. Today patience, understanding and support should be the priority above all else.
