32 DAYS TO GO | East Ringwood junior president Andrew Broadhurst spoke to EFL Media ahead of the 2019 season, all thanks to Yarra Valley Water & Choose Tap.
Overall, were you satisfied with what the club achieved, both on and off the field, in 2018?
Andrew Broadhurst: Very satisfied. I felt like we grew in all areas, on and off the field and were successful in not only maintaining but strengthening our club culture of respect and inclusion. Our president for the last two years, Shaun Halit, and his team deserve a lot of credit for strengthening the club going forward.
Approximately how many teams do you think you will field in 2019?
AB: 20 to 22.
What has the feeling been like around the club over the pre-season?
AB: Terrific. All the teams have settled into their training and we have welcomed three or four new coaches. With significant changes on committee, everyone is excited with anticipation about season 2019.
If you had to pick one, which team do you think is the club’s best chance of winning a premiership this season, and why?
AB: I like all of our team’s chances. They’re all having their best pre-seasons ever and they have never been fitter.
Is there a particular age group of players that you need as soon as possible to fill a team ahead of Round 1?
AB: Our under-13 boys could do with a few numbers, but it’s still early.
Of course we are always promoting our Auskick, under-8 boys and under-10 girls.
If any players are interested in playing for your club this season, what do they have to do?
