From the CEO | EFNL Senior Finals

Last weekend saw the conclusion of the EFNL Junior season with record crowds attending 37 grand finals across all divisions. Congratulations to all teams, players and officials who participated in Grand Finals.

Our attention now shifts to the Senior competitions, where from next weekend there will be Grand Finals taking place every week until our Premier Grand Final on Saturday 16th September to be held at Bayswater Oval. The League would again like to thank our host clubs and their volunteers devoting their time to facilitate the 2023 Senior Finals Series.

The EFNL Bendigo Bank Netball Finals Series is underway across two venues. HE Parker, Heathmont and Waverley Netball Centre, Glen Waverley. Divisions One – Four will commence their finals series following a competitive season with semi-finals taking place this Friday. Winners of the One v Two semifinal will move straight through to the Grand Final, whilst the Three v Four semi-finalists look to keep their seasons alive and progress to the Preliminary finals next week. Divisions Five – Nine will continue their finals series, entering week two Preliminary Finals where teams will be playing for a place in the Grand Final next Friday Night.

In our Deakin Senior Women’s competition, it’s week two of finals with Preliminary Finals taking place this weekend for a place in the Grand Final.Deakin Uni PremierSouth Croydon Bluev     SBL Wolves BlackQuambee ReserveDeakin Uni 1st Division Boronia v     Park OrchardsH.E Parker ReserveDeakin Uni 2nd DivisionSurrey Parkv     Waverley BluesH.E Parker ReserveDeakin Uni 3rd Division Eastern Devils Black v     SBL Wolves TealQuambee ReserveDeakin Uni 4th DivisionColdstreamv     MitchamH.E Parker Reserve

The first week of finals kicks off this weekend in the Eastland Senior Men’s competition for Division One, Two, Three and Four. Host venues in 2023 are Boronia, Mitcham, Ringwood, and East Ringwood with finals on Saturday and Sunday, whilst the Premier Division home and away season concludes this weekend.

Finals are an exciting time of the year for the players, spectators, umpires, and team officials that are involved. The League expects the conduct and behaviour of our clubs, players, and spectators to continue throughout the finals series to ensure everyone at the finals has an enjoyable experience in a family friendly environment. There is no place for abuse towards any players, umpires, officials, or other spectators at our games.

As with last year many of our club venues are cashless and Simple ‘Tap ‘n’ Go’ facilities will be available (credit and debit cards) along with the ability to pre purchase tickets prior to the games.

Good luck to all teams on the weekend and remember to tune into the Eastland Finals match of the round on Eastern FM 98.1 on Saturday and Sunday. You may also choose to head to the EFNL Facebook and YouTube pages and watch all the live streams for the selected Women’s and Men’s finals matches over the weekend.
