For the first time in the league’s history, the Eastern Football Netball League entered the Netball Victoria Association Championships.
The championships were held at State Netball Centre on Sunday the 16th of June with the EFNL entering the Open age division.
A total of 19 players across ten clubs successfully qualified to make the squad and represent the league, with 10 players selected to represent the league on the day.
A successful day saw the league finish fifth within their pool, achieving two wins and a draw, competing against some highly competitive teams from around the state.
EFNL Netball Co-Ordinator Alice Cook was thrilled with the performance on the day as well as the opportunity for our Netballers to experience the tournament.
“This has been a wonderful experience, and I am so proud of our players who represented the league on Sunday,” Cook said.
“They all played tremendously, and I thank each and every one of our players for their efforts both on and off the court. To be able to provide this opportunity for our players is fantastic and we look forward to future tournaments,”
“Thank you to our wonderful coaches Natalie Baird and Jess Fouet for their support and guidance over the past 3 months. Thank you to our sponsors who supported the team, New Balance, Belgravia Apparel for their exceptional on and off court apparel and our
primary association champs partner EzyAir for their support of our first Association Champs team.”
Netball Victoria’s Association Championships provide more than 180 Victorian associations and leagues the opportunity to compete in a crucial part of the Netball Victoria pathway, with talent ID opportunities for athletes, umpires and coaches at all tournament days across the state.
