EFLTA TRAINERS OF THE YEAR

Senior Trainer of the year – Paul Calderwood, Silvan FC

Paul is a pleasure and remarkable person on and off the field, Paul has the passion and drive to learn, deliver and sustain the highest quality of knowledge that he can learn. Paul is eager to learn new techniques, deliver and practice the required skills on all able bodies that allows him to achieve greater results.

Paul is very humble, kind and calm in situations, there were several concussion incidents and ACL injuries requiring stretching from the ground. Paul was calm and able to deliver the required attention to each player.

Paul has been at the club for 3 years now as a trainer, he is always punctual, aware and prepared to put his hand up for assistance. Paul approaches injuries and the wellbeing of players with the upmost care and support. Paul has dealt with a broken collarbone, along with torn ACL and open wounds. It had been an eventful year on the field, but off the field Paul continued to offer the same care and support to the players, both at training and game days.

Junior Trainer of the year – Tracee Amup, Rowville Knights U/15s

Tracee effectively communicates between players, coaches and parents – informing of the boys injuries and ability to return to play.

A great example  of Tracee’s ability. There was an injury with a player and despite having a number of people advising her how to ‘put the thumb back in place’  Tracee stuck to her guns and advised the player to go to hospital to get to reviewed and addressed. The wellbeing of the player was her first thought process.
