BLUES APPOINT CARBONI

THE Waverley Blues Football Club has announced the appointment of Ben Carboni as its senior-playing coach for the 2014 season.

Carboni, an ex-Waverley Blues junior, has had a stellar playing career, playing over 150 senior games with Caulfield Grammarians in the VAFA. During that stint, he won multiple club and league honours.

Last year, Carboni was a playing-assistant coach at Thorpdale and finished second in the Mid Gippsland Football League’s Best and Fairest count. He also represented the league in the Country Championships.

Joining Carboni will be James Lawson, who has been appointed senior assistant coach.

Lawson has over 10 years of coaching experience at a variety of levels.
