Knox ended its drought on Saturday afternoon in Division 1, defeating East Ringwood by 32 points at Knox Gardens Reserve. The Falcons led at all changes, racing out of the blocks early to lead by 19 points at quarter time, never looking back. Harry Greaves finished with three majors for Knox, while Rob Maibaum was named best on ground.

Meanwhile, South Croydon was victorious over Blackburn by 20 points at Cheong Park.

In Division 2, Mooroolbark produced one of the upsets of the season, defeating Lilydale by 30 points at Heights Reserve, while Upper Ferntree Gully put Wantirna South’s finals hopes in doubt with a 32-point win at Walker Reserve.

The Basin held off a fast-finishing South Belgrave in Division 3, coming away with a nine-point victory at Batterham Reserve. The Saints held a one-point lead at half-time before the sides rallied in the third term as the Bears took a six-point advantage into the final term before kicking an inaccurate 2.7 to seal the victory.

In Division 4, Silvan recorded a thrilling eight-point win over finals-bound Forest Hill, overcoming a 14-point deficit at three quarter time with five goals to two in the last quarter. Smith and Beddome each kicked two for the Cats, while Dietzel was named best on ground.
