BENDIGO BANK SATURDAY NIGHT SCOREBOARD

Keep up to date with all the latest scores on the Bendigo Bank Saturday Night Scoreboard…

Blackburn has consolidated its spot in Division 1’s top five with a thrilling three-point win at Morton Park. The Burners raced away early to lead by 48 points during the second term, before Balwyn slammed on eight second-half goals to three to fall agonisingly short to its now finals-bound opponents. Jake Hammond finished with five goals for Blackburn, while Cam Manuel and Jeff Gobbels each kicked three for Balwyn.

In Division 2, Doncaster East overcame a resurgent Wantirna South to run out three-point winners at Zerbes Reserve. The Lions held a 21-point advantage at the first break before the Devils narrowed the margin to just nine and half-time. The sides rallied in the third with Doncaster East clinging to a two-point buffer at the final change before trading goals in the final term. Michael Steven kicked four majors for Doncaster East, in a best on ground performance.

Meanwhile in Division 3, The Basin claimed its first top-five scalp for the season, defeating Heathmont by 10 points at H.E Parker Reserve. The Jets took the early ascendancy to lead by 26 points at quarter time before the tide turned for the Bears midway through the second term, registering 10 goals to four after the first change. Lachlan Cripps and Beau Dowler booted three crucial goals each for The Basin, while Josh Adams was prolific through the midfield and finished among the best afield.

In Division 4, Forest Hill returned to the winners’ list with a 34-point victory over Fairpark. The Zebras led at all changes, however the Lions weren’t without a chance at the final change when they trailed by just 13 points before three goals to none in the last term sealed victory for the away side.
