2022 GameDay Structure Change

The Eastern Football Netball League (Football) Gameday Structure has been changed for season 2022, as the league looks to accommodate for the increasing demand for Saturday Football.

There will be no time-on played in the Under 19’s, Reserves and Senior Women’s and the half time break has been shortened to 10 minutes in these three competitions, to give clubs the ability to play up to five games on any weekend.

Time changes will allow for greater consistency in game times, especially within the Senior Women’s competitions.

Changes have also been made to the start times of each game. Default times have been allocated however clubs will have the ability to move game times (particularly Under 19’s and Women’s) within reason (and with ample notice) to best fit the flow of the gameday or assist with access to volunteers etc.

Compulsory Closure times remain in place for all games in the first three timeslots.

Matches may start at times that differ to the above arrangement if agreed to by both competing clubs and due notice is given to the EFNL.

It is recommended that games where a 10-minute half time break is allocated, that sides remain on the field during the main break – obvious reasons excluded – to ensure this schedule is adhered to.

It is critical that timekeepers adhere to the above schedules – particularly regarding breaks between games and quarters – to ensure all games are played to their entirety and in reasonable conditions (light etc).
