2014 EFL Pre-Season Wiki | Tomorrow: South Belgrave

Upper Ferntree Gully Junior Football Club Secretary Sue Mitchell speaks with Braden Ingram as her club prepares for the 2014 season.

Braden Ingram: Overall, were you satisfied with what the club achieved, both on and off the field, in 2013?

Sue Mitchell: Yeah we had a great season in 2013. We had the Under 14’s and Under 17’s both make Grand Finals and a total of four teams in the finals.

Approximately how many teams do you think you will field in 2014?

We’ll have 10 teams this season, which is the same as last year.

What has the feeling been like around the club over the pre-season?

Really positive actually and with a few teams going up a grade we’re looking forward to getting into the season and seeing how it goes.

If you had to pick one, which team do you think is the club’s best chance of winning a premiership this season?

That’s really hard, but maybe the Under 13’s because they’re just a great little team and they did really well last year. They got knocked out the week before the Grand Final and they’re a nice close-knit team.

Is there a particular age group of players that you need as soon as possible to fill a team ahead of Round 1?

Under 8’s and Under 9’s, but everyone else is going well.

If any players are interested in playing for South Croydon Junior Football Club this season, what do they have to do?
